Andy Warhol is considered the most influential artist of the 20th century. He was a leader in the pop art movement blending avant-garde and commercial sensibilities. He was highly prolific in a variety of art forms including screenprinting, painting, performance art and filmmaking and blurred the lines between fine art and mainstream aesthetics. Warhol lived openly as a homosexual before the Gay Liberation Movement.
