Frida Kahlo

(July 6, 1907 – July 13,1954)

Frida Kahlo was a Mexican surrealist painter and activist who suffered with lifelong health problems from an accident she survived as teenager. The pain and anguish fueled her work, while  her passion fueled a tumultuous marriage with painter Diego Rivera and several affairs with both men and women. She is one of the most celebrated artists of the 20th century.
